Sasha Allen is the transgender openly woman who sang transgender, making it to the Live Shows on The Voice, made history when they got there. It was the first time during the 21 years of The Vocal competitions Sasha had made it beyond the Battle Rounds. This Newtown, Conn. duo have made it into the Top 8 of the contest! Sasha announced his transgender status when they presented their audition packages at the Blind Auditions. According to Parade.com, this was not an easy choice. "That was a really hard decision to make because you are showing a very personal and vulnerable aspect of yourself in front of millions and millions folks," said Sasha, who went through a transition while in high school. The support of the fans and the effect that it affected people even though the decision was a difficult one, was what really has convinced Sasha that his decision was beneficial. We performed the song prior to The Voice even existed. It was an amazing surprise. It was a track we had already heard; it was a song that we knew we had ideas to arrange. I was astonished by how much the fans have hit the nail on the head."
